# Musix modifications to MuseScore Studio

Musix is derived from MuseScore Studio. The upstream base revisions are pinned
in [`source-state.json`](source-state.json); the complete modified source is
flattened into this repository under `vendor/MuseScore`.

The Musix project has modified the upstream work beginning in July 2026. The
changes include:

- Windows-host compatibility and reproducible Qt/Emscripten WASM build scripts;
- MusicXML/MXL intake, safety limits and browser score bridge changes;
- notation editing, playback and practice projections around one MuseScore
  `MasterScore`;
- browser MIDI, piano-practice, score-following and vocal-practice modules;
- product workspace, layout and accessibility changes to the experimental
  MuseScore `APP-WEB` shell; and
- release verification, legal notices and provenance manifests.

Git history is the authoritative file-by-file modification record. Each public
package generated by `scripts/prepare-public-alpha.ps1` records the exact Musix
commit, upstream revisions, artifact SHA-256 values and a source archive made
from that same committed tree.

This notice describes engineering provenance. It does not assert trademark
permission, copyright clearance for user-supplied scores, or professional
legal approval of a release.
